William F. Buckley Jr., who marshaled polysyllabic
exuberance, famously arched eyebrows and a refined,
perspicacious mind to elevate conservatism to the center of
American political discourse, died Wednesday at his home in
Stamford, Conn.

Likely not; but be assured Mr. Buckley likely did. In a letter to me while I was in Basic Training, my wife used "perspicacious" in a letter. I'd not been exposed to that particular adjective, so there I am, in a barracks with 47 other basic trainees, trying to find a dictionary... The good old days.

Tracy, that word is an elegant way to say "shrewd"; OK, not a great, clarifying definition, but I think it'll do, without resort to a dictionary (or, in the spirit of this thread, should I say a "lexicon"?).
